Synthetic swap
I made the change to synthetic for my Allison transmission with Mobil 1 and it seems to be shifting more smoothly and running slightly cooler although I haven't pulled anything yet.

ORDERED THIS FLUID FOR MY 1998 FLEETWOOD DISCOVERY MOTORHOME WITH A CUMMINS ENGINE AND ALLISON 3000MH TRANSMISSION. TIME FOR NEW FILTERS AND FLUID, SO JUMPED ONLINE AND FOUND THIS AMAZING SITE! SHIPPING IS CHEAP AND PRICES ARE VERY REASONABLE! SINCE THIS MEETS SPECS FOR THE TES-295 SPECIFICATIONS AND A MUCH BETTER PRICE THAN THE ALLISON DEALER (YIKES!!!) THAT WANTED OVER 65 DOLLARS PER GALLON FOR THEIR TRANSYND BRAND WITH SAME SPECS. A+! (I WILL UPDATE AFTER INSTALL IF ANYTHING CHANGES :)

Have a 97 Ford E4OD calls for Mercon, will this work?

BEST ANSWER: No, this would not work on your application. The Mobil ATF DM if it's just Mercon but if you're looking for Mercon V then it would be the Mobil Multi Vehicle ATF or, for a synthetic, it would be the Mobil 1 Syn ATF. Keep in mind you cannot use the ATF DM on Mercon 5 applications.
